I am a writer, mostly fantasy. I've written a young adult fantasy novel, Daughter of the Signs, with Paul Douglas Deane. Feel free to follow us on Twitter, where I'm kwgishwriter and he's PaulDeane3. YA fantasy is my main passion, but I adore fantasy in general, and I've rarely met a book I didn't love.
2nd place winner in the Angela Thomas Award (theme: I am Appalachian) in the 2014 Kentucky State Poetry Society Competition for "Mountain Woman."
Also the author of the Horn Book article, "Hunting Down Harry Potter: An Exploration of Religious Concerns about Children's Literature." (http://archive.hbook.com/magazine/articles/2000/may00_gish.asp)
Some of my favorite books include Rae Carson's Girl of Fire & Thorns trilogy, Leigh Bardugo's Shadow & Bone trilogy, The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, and Meredith Ann Pierce's Darkangel trilogy. There are many other excellent YA fantasy novels, and fantasy novels in general, but these are the ones I love most. That said, I'm discovering new treasures all the time, and I'll try and post about my finds here in case others are interested. Happy reading!
